AfD member set car on fire himself – Next fake "Antifa attack" exposed!

The AfD repeatedly stages alleged attacks on itself to play the victim and justify its radical agenda. However, current investigations show that many of these incidents are staged or misrepresented. How much truth is really behind the party's claims?

A member of the AfD set his own car on fire, forged a threatening letter from Antifa – and the party immediately spoke of a “cowardly attack”: Once again, it turns out that an alleged attack on the AfD was staged itself. The media must finally really start to “conceal” these incidents, as the right-wing press constantly accuses them of – because they are constantly lying.

According to current investigation results, the cowardly act was only that it was “blamed on Antifa”: The fire in his small transporter was set by an AfD member in Uffenheim, Bavaria, as the police reports. It’s not just about alleged insurance fraud: The man also confessed to forging a supposed threatening letter from Antifa and having painted political graffiti on the car a few days earlier.

The AfD district association Fürth/Neustadt a.d. Aisch spoke out the next day condemning the “cowardly attack” and immediately drew crude connections between “Omas gegen Rechts” and the alleged arson. Well, that has aged poorly. According to the new investigation results, state leader Stephan Protschka is compelled to explain that it was the misconduct of an individual, and he explicitly rejects a blanket attribution to the AfD.

Interesting: When it comes to refugees or people with a migration background, the AfD rarely has a problem with generalizations. But is such a staging really just an isolated case within the AfD?

The many “isolated cases” of staged "attacks" on the AfD

Just two weeks ago, it was revealed that a “left-extremist attack”, which was reported by the AfD in Rosenheim and covered by the media, never actually happened. The incident was filmed, and it showed that it was the AfD that first attacked counter-demonstrators.

How many cases of “left-wing violence” are there still that were never actually such? Another prominent example was an alleged stabbing of AfD right-wing extremist Chrupalla. Chrupalla had to abort a campaign event for the Bavarian state election in Ingolstadt due to nausea and headaches. He claimed to have been stabbed in the right arm.

There was no evidence of an injection or an attack. Corresponding investigations were carried out, but: nothing. Yet the AfD titled it as an “attack,” and that’s exactly how it appeared in the media. Even a court had to determine that nothing supported the AfD’s accusations. By that time, the election was over. And the victim-pretending had achieved its effect.

In another case, a “leftist attack” was apparently just cheap wheels installed on a car, in another, there was supposed to be a “arson attack” by “Antifa,” which even tried to include it in the statistics of left-extremist murders. In the end, it was apparently not politically motivated at all, and the police even suspected a relationship crime.

The incident involving AfD politician Magnitz in 2019 was just as much: The “timber attack” turned out not to be the “left-extremist attack” the AfD had staged. In 2019, we also reported about an “attack on an AfD campaign stand,” and a video showed that the AfD apparently dismantled its own stand.

We must stop believing the AfD’s victim lies

If there are actual attacks against the AfD, of course they should be prosecuted and condemned. But because the far-right AfD knows that we democrats do that and do not react mostly with Schadenfreude or malice (as is common around the AfD with attacks and murders), it invents attacks that never happened. Because it knows that victim staging is extremely powerful.

It is not only effective; it is the backbone of fascist strategy: The own lack of restraint, extremism, and own corruption become justifiable through it. “The others are worse.” “We just have to defend ourselves.” These invented attacks and lies are not only dangerous because they are untrue. They radicalize the AfD and its supporters. That’s why they advocate the most violence, that’s why they always want to beat their enemies in elections and silence and eliminate them.

The AfD is not the victim. On the contrary, it apparently wants to become the perpetrator. No other party has such close connections to terrorist groups and violence, as documented in this long list:

We must stop immediately reporting claims about the AfD

If we keep falling for the AfD’s lies over and over again, we are not “on the safe side.” We help to increase the danger this far-right party poses to democracy. Time and again, we see: We cannot trust the AfD when it claims an attack against itself. It lies and lies and lies. Therefore, yes, democratic media must stop immediately reporting the AfD’s claims of attacks.

Yes, the fascists and their media will then scream loudly that “the lying press” is “concealing” these attacks. So what? They are already doing that now. The right-wing “public broadcaster” immediately questioned after the fake attack in Rosenheim why the BR would “conceal” the incident – but the BR had actually published an article almost simultaneously. Three weeks later, the fake news still has no correction online.

These propagandists are already lying to their followers – regardless of how or whether we report on these incidents. It is in our democracy’s interest to urgently stop also propagating propaganda for the fascists and providing them with the victim staging they so desperately seek, which they repeatedly invent shamelessly. As journalists, we have a duty to truth and democracy. And we can no longer trust the AfD. Please: wait before reporting alleged attacks on the AfD. They could very well be just fake as so often.
